About Ojay
Growing up in Nigeria, I was surrounded by delicious and aromatic foods that were both comforting and nourishing. From jollof rice to Egusi soup, each dish tells a story and represents a unique aspect of Nigerian culture. I take great pride in creating dishes that reflect the rich and diverse culinary traditions of my homeland.
As a young girl growing up, I didn’t care much for cooking, as I would often tell my mother there was no need for me to learn how to cook as I would meet and marry a rich man and we would eat at fancy restaurants all the time! Well that didn’t happen!
My passion for cooking really began as a young woman living on my own and looking for ways to make my money go further. I was fascinated by the way I could transform simple ingredients into complex and flavourful dishes.

There's something magical about the process of cooking - the aromas, the textures, the flavours. When we cook for others, we are not just providing sustenance, but also creating an experience that engages all of the senses.
For me, cooking is not a job, - it's a way of preserving and celebrating the rich cultural heritage of my homeland. Whether I am cooking for my family, friends, or even strangers, the act of preparing a meal can be a powerful tool for building relationships and fostering connections.
I am honoured to share my passion and my recipes with you, and I hope that you will join me on this culinary journey through Nigeria.
